Burke River Trail Association has three Focus Areas:
- Connections – Physically get trail on the ground to connect communities
- Communities – Build stronger communities through economic development and civic engagement
- Conservation – Educate communities about the environment, wildlife and recreating responsibility
To get that word out, we are hitting local festivals with our information. This includes trail maps and discussing the route of the trail, encouraging membership and signing up for our monthly e-newsletter, sharing our downtown initiatives and providing free crafts and educational materials regarding outdoor stewardship.
On June 1, BRTA was at the Rutherford College Founder’s Day Festival and the Glen Alpine in the Streets event. Next up, the Rhodhiss July 6 Celebration and August 10 at the Valdese Waldensian Festival.
